PHYSICAL / VIRTUAL SURVEYS
In person surveys offer the opportunity for a fair and accurate estimate.
Virtual Surveys are quicker but can be less effective in determining a firm cost for your move.
1
What is a survey?
A survey allows your mover to see the actual household goods requesting to be transported, which is conducted on-site or virtually.
Pictures and/or videos of each room, the contents in cabinets, drawers, closets, bathrooms, and etc. are important on virtual and physical surveys to determine a fair and reasonable estimate.
2
What is a physical survey?
A physical survey is conducted or performed by the mover to determine a precise estimate for your move.
On local moves, an estimate and contract must be provided before providing any moving services.
3
Can I waive my survey?
A physical survey must be performed unless you waive this requirement in writing on your binding or non-binding estimate.
However, on long distance moves, an inventory (descriptive list of items stating condition before and after delivery) is required before any shipment is loaded.
An inventory attached to a binding or non-binding estimate, bill of lading, or estimate and contract for services from the physical survey or virtual survey will help determine how much your move should cost.
WRITTEN ESTIMATES
A written estimate will determine a fixed cost or estimated cost.
*A verbal “quote” is not an estimate!
4
Why is a physical survey suggested?
A physical survey is the most recommended way to provide each and every customer with the absolute best service possible for their moving needs.
An in-person survey allows the mover and/ or carrier to provide you with a precise, descriptive, and as accurate as possible binding or non-binding estimate, work order, bill of lading, and/ or estimate and contract.
In person surveys grants shippers with the most comfort by asking any relevant questions with real time answers.
5
Can the price of my estimate change?
Carrier may refuse to service any shipment or decline providing an estimate for independent business purposes.
For any impracticable operations upon performing any moving services, carrier may charge up to an additional 15% of the binding or non-binding estimate or use a third party to complete any services necessary.
